We thought it would be helpful to share an email correspondence we had with a local small business owner that contacted us with a few questions. They created a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) website, as that’s all they can afford within their marketing budget for now. They asked if there was anything they could do on their own to get seen on Google now without being an online marketing genius.

If you’re trying to compete for the top position on Google, the starting point would be to get some off-page SEO going. This is like the bare-minimum-basics to even be considered for ranking. This is something you can do for free on your own. To see how to do this, read this: SEO Checklist
